Common Filter Media Used in Industrial RO Water Treatment Plants
In an Industrial RO Water Treatment Plant, commonly used filter media are mainly applied for pretreatment before the reverse osmosis membrane to reduce the impact of contaminants such as suspended solids, turbidity, organic matter, and residual chlorine on the RO membrane. Resin
High exchange capacity (2.0eq/L),uniform particle resin, low breakagerate, long service life, lowestoperating cost, and stable effluent.
Activated carbon
Preferred coal-based charcoal,
with a high iodine value(900-1000mg/g), uniform particles,
and protection for RO membranes.
Quartz sand
It features high hardness (Mohs 7),large dirt-holding capacity, longbackwashing cycle and a servicelife of 3 to 5 years.
